25 days

In almost 26 months of Emerson's life we spent two nights away from her ever. She spent two nights with my mom & dad while we celebrated our anniversary. During that weekend we saw Emerson each day. She was 7 months old. We spent 25 days in the NICU with Truett. Emerson was too young to even come in to see her brother. One night Justin stayed with Truett so I could spend the night with my baby girl. We drove home late from the hospital and she was exhausted. She insisted I sleep with her. I easily gave in. During the night tossing and turning she cried "show me pictures of Mommy holding me." My heart broke. I knew she had been asking to see these pictures lately. I hugged her tightly and assured her I was here holding her now.

Sunday Funday: Castles & Handprints

A cloudy Sunday is a perfect day for a fort and handprint cookies. I won't lie I just saw the handprint cookies on an episode of Pioneer Woman but I knew E would LOVE it! I took the easy out and used store bought cookie dough but hey what am I super woman :). Daddy helped Emerson build her castle in the living room then we made handprint cookies. My sugar cookie dough would work much better so lesson learned make it next time. Emerson got to decorate all the cookies "all by herself". There was no shortage of icing or sprinkles on her little masterpieces.

Sweet Summer

Summer has flown by.
We didn't complete our summer fun list but will try again next year.
I am so grateful for each day I have with these two amazing little people.
I hope to get back to regular blogging soon.
As my angels sleep I am currently updating posts.
