Baby Shower #1

Justin and I had our first baby shower in Brownwood August 1st hosted by Chad and Meredith Locker, Chance and Leslie Barr, and Courtney (Justin's little sister and future Aggie). I thought I would throw that in because she usually doesn't go a day without one of us harassing her about entering the cult. Hey it's all in good humor...we are very proud of her accomplishments. Now back to us and baby Emerson :)

The hosts sans significant others...Courtney, Leslie, Me and Meredith

The theme of the shower was butterflies and for all of you that know Meredith i.e. Martha Stewart you won't be surprised that she went above and beyond. We are so blessed to have such good friends here in Brownwood and will be picking their brains for baby advice very shortly.

The cupcakes pink and white of course with handcut butterflies

Courtney made these amazing tissue balls for the decor by hand

These were words of wisdom for the guests to give to us

Leslie holding 2 month old Jensen and Ella looking on
trying to wrap her mind around the fact her baby brother will be here shortly

Merdith and I belly to belly as she called our babies wombmates :)

The shower was a success and as the night ended there was a double rainbow outside that we named Emerson's rainbow. Another of God's wonderful blessings a rare and beautiful sight to see.

Baby Shower #2

My dear friends Brittany, Kelly, Melissa and Katy hosted a shower in Dallas for us this past weekend. We are so thankful to have such good friends to share this special time with. Of course there was pink everywhere...what more could girls ask for. We received so many wonderful gifts and are very thankful to everyone. My hosts got Emerson her car seat which of course is a must in order to leave the hospital when she decides to join us! My grandmother Meme in Florida bought us our wonderful chair for the nursery. It is white with pink piping and so comfortable. I will be adding pictures of the nursery once we get the crib and bedding in the next few weeks. My mom handmade pink flowers for the bedding so stay tuned to see how lucky this little girl is with her amazing nursery. I might move in there myself. I told Justin not to be surprised if he finds me in her crib one day :)

Katy, Brittany, Melissa, me and Kelly (my lovely hosts)

Each napkin was wrapped with a pacifier and stamped with an E...so cute

9 weeks to go...

Believe it or not our baby girl will be here in approximately 9 weeks. We can't wait for her arrival and are counting down the days. I feel great but know that as I continue to grow it will be harder for me to get things accomplished. Coming soon I will be posting pics from our showers these past two weekends so stay tuned.

Baby Blake's shower

Saturday we had a shower for Meredith and baby Blake to arrive in early September. The theme was turquoise and brown. We had a sweets shower and I baked cupcakes and the icing from scratch (toot toot). I used the recipe from NYC's famous Magnolia Bakery for vanilla cupcakes. I also baked my homemade sugar cookies that have become my go to cookie since last year. I really baked them for me but I know that Meredith loves them as well (Ella Grace seemed to enjoy them too). I have always enjoyed cooking but I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and start baking. It is an exact science so that part stresses me out a bit. The shower was a success and Meredith took much better pictures available on her blog:

sugar cookies and cupcakes (sorry my pics turned out terrible)

a better shot of the cupcakes

I was even feeling a bit crafty in the weeks before so I made a diaper cake. It was my first attempt and I think it turned out well. Thank you to the blogger out there who posted a step by step of how to including pictures. It would not have been possible without your guidance!

the diaper cake..not bad for first attempt

Vaca...

We were very lucky to go on vacation for the week of 4th of July. We went to a resort on a private island off of Key West. The resort was amazing...however Key West not so much. We had a beach front cottage and just relaxed all week. It was hard to leave the beautiful island. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Introducing...Emerson Chase Jones

With a baby girl on the way I decided that we should step into the 21st century and start a blog to keep family and friends up to date. We had our 3d sonogram yesterday and it was amazing. We were there for about an hour and a half trying to get her to move her hands from her face. We got some good pictures and everything on video. We even caught her sucking her thumb. We think she is beautiful and can't wait for her arrival. We are very thankful that God has blessed us with this beautiful baby.

This is a 2d pic of her profile that looks a lot like my baby profile

I love this one. She is frowning because they aggravated her by turning up the heartbeat volume to move her hands from the front of her face

A good shot of her face

We think she was sucking her thumb here
